Which surveyor is right for me?

When hired, the surveyor represents you and is there to protect your safety and investment. Make sure you are comfortable with the surveyor you hire. All surveyors should base their inspections on USCG regulations and also use ABYC and NFPA safety standards.

The surveyors ability to communicate verbally and on paper is important. My reports are comprehensive and detailed, but are organized well so that they are easy to read. I provide a summary of the vessel's condition and value, as well as a 'findings and recommendations' section is included in every report that prioritizes unsafe conditions, defects in workmanship, and substandard maintenance conditions. Photographs of the vessel are included with every pre-purchase and insurance survey and damage inspection. I encourage my clients to attend the survey, and I make sure that I set aside time near the completion of the survey to answer questions.
